Colour Dynamics
We are committed to small batch work, as this aligns with our values of sustainability, respect for natural materials, and working seasonally with plant materials, beeswax, and family apiaries. While we have some baseline colours and recipes, every batch has slight hue variance due to the natural variation in our raw materials. We work with what is seasonally available, prioritize quality, and embrace the colour and tone variation that results. For us this is beauty.
What makes the differences in beeswax ?
The kind and amount of pollens present (Which flowers did the bees visit? What flower was in season at the time?), and from where in the hive was the wax taken, acccount for the range of natural beeswax hues. Beeswax has seasons and locales, and we incorporate this diversity into our process and products.
Botanical colourants
The botanicals we use to colour the wax may vary batch to batch in intensity and can fade over time and with UV light.

Lighting
Colours of beeswax candles change greatly depending on light. Hue, intensity, and reflectivity all shift and morph in response to sunlight, articial lights, and the glowing flicker of a flame. It’s all part of the magic!
